House Speaker Nancy Pelosi took a jab at popular Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for relying on her Twitter following rather than getting down to work to help the Dems pass laws.

AOC bosts 3.8 million followers on Twitter has used her platform to push her agendas such as the Green New Deal.

During an interview with USA Today, Pelosi was asked about her struggles of running a House caucus with rising politicians who are rallying for legislation which will not pass the checkpoints, she said:

“While there are people who have a large number of Twitter followers, what's important is that we have large numbers of votes on the floor of the House.”

She also told USA that progressives are “fine” after she told them that they need realistic legislation that could actually pass the House.

Pelosi has previously been accused of throwing shade towards AOC when she appeared to mock the Green Deal.

“It will be one of several or maybe many suggestions that we receive,” Pelosi said. “The green dream, or whatever they call it, nobody knows what it is, but they're for it, right?”

While Pelosi may be pointing fingers at AOC for using social media to drive up support for her initiatives, so can Pelosi and almost every other high profile politician in government.

Perhaps Pelosi is a little salty as she currently only has 2.9 million followers (which is still a lot.) But one thing's for sure, with all the shade being thrown, Pelosi is looking little green around the gills... a slight case of the green-eyed monster perhaps?
