John Brennan, the former director of the CIA has called 'Trump's ship' a "sinking" one during a recent appearance on MSNBC.

Brennan seems to be eyeing impeachment for the embattled president.

“Barr has to be interrogated,” said Brennan, “and then Bob Mueller should get up before Congress, and Congress has to do its job.”

“I’m still waiting for those Republicans to realize that the Trump ship is a sinking one,” Brennan continued, “and there are still rats on that ship, and there are individuals who are not going to separate themselves from Trump. But they do so at their own peril.”

“They need to fulfill their obligations, irrespective of their political affiliation,” added Brennan. “And they need to do it now, rather than this continued sinking of not just the presidency but of these institutions of government that we rely on to keep us safe and secure.”

Attorney General William Barr's is testifying before lawmakers on Wednesday and many have questions about the level of scrutiny over how he portrayed special counsel Robert Mueller's report.

A letter has also been released on Wednesday morning from special counsel Robert Mueller to Barr in which he stated that Barr's summary of his report did not "fully capture the context, nature and substance of the investigation," spurring "public confusion."

"There is now public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation. This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the department appointed the special counsel: To assure full public confidence in the outcomes of the investigations," Mueller wrote.
