House Democrats have slammed Attorney General William Barr for refusing to appear at their hearing on Thursday following Wednesday's testimony to the Senate on his handling of special counsel Robert Mueller's report.

Rep. Steve Cohen began eating a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken at 9 a.m. while lawmakers and the press waited to see if Barr would show up on the Hill.

According to one reporter, when Barr's absence was mentioned, Cohen pointed to the bucket of chicken and said, "He's here."

House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler accused the Attorney General of failing to check President Trump’s “worst instincts” and misrepresenting Mueller’s findings.

“He has failed the men and women of the Department by placing the needs of the President over the fair administration of justice,” Nadler said. “He has even failed to show up today.”

“Yes, we will continue to negotiate for access to the full report. And yes, we will have no choice but to move quickly to hold the attorney general in contempt if he stalls or fails to negotiate in good faith,” Nadler added.

But Georgia Rep. Doug Collins, the top Republican on the Judiciary panel, pointed the finger at the Dems, calling it a “circus political stunt” designed to harm the president.

“The reason Bill Barr is not here is today is because the Democrats decided they didn’t want him here today,” Collins said, adding that it was part of Democrats’ “impeachment agenda.”

While White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told the press that Nadler should resign if he cannot do his job.

“I think what we’re seeing from Chairman Nadler is he’s incapable of holding power. If he and his committee aren’t capable of actually asking the attorney general questions themselves and need to staff that out it seems like a pretty pathetic moment for the chairman of that committee.”
