A mother from Georgia has been charged in her own baby's death after she allegedly dropped her infant son during a fight outside a beauty store.

Karen Lashun Harrison, 26, was seen on video being hit by another woman who is standing beside the car outside of Thomas Beauty Supply in Moultrie, GA.

According to reports, Harrison immediately dropped her baby to continue fighting as bystanders rushed to pick the baby up from the ground.

The reports that Harrison took the baby to the hospital the next day she said the baby was injured at home when he fell from family friend Carneata Clark's arms. Clark corroborated the story and was subsequently charged with false statements and obstruction of an officer.

The baby later died from the injuries.

Harrison remains in police custody on murder and several other charges including felony child cruelty, simple battery, and affray charges, according to a Moultrie Police Department statement.

"We investigated the incident and determined the baby did not receive his injuries how it was reported. It was reported to us that the baby had fallen from the caregivers arms and received the injuries," said Lt. Freddie Williams, with the Moultrie Police Department. "Then we got information that there was a fight."

"This is very disturbing, that two adults would fight in public place," said Lt. Williams. "Especially while holding a three-month-old child in her arms."

The name of the other woman involved in the fight has not been released to the public by the police.
