A woman from Detroit has survived after she was allegedly shot 11 times by her wife.

"She emptied the whole clip into my body," Airrion Wallace said from a hospital bed while speaking to Fox 2.

According to Wallace, she confronted her wife of 12 years over claims of infidelity. Her wife's reaction to being asked for a divorce is not one that anybody could have predicted.

"I was telling her that we needed to get a divorce," Wallace said. "Because I can handle a lot of things but I cannot handle infidelity."

"She shot me four times in my vagina, four times in my leg, three times in my stomach," Wallace said.

After her wife "snapped," Wallace's thoughts were on survival and removing herself from the residence.

"I'm like ok. Ok I hear you, I'm not going to do it," she said. "And she kept going."

"I had to gather as much strength as I could, to get down my stairs and get outside, because the neighbors had heard it," she said. "As soon as I opened the door, there was already people out there. I said, 'Please can you call the police.'"

The name of her wife has not been released to the press. Following the incident, the wife was arrested but is yet to be formally charged. The wife is claiming that the shooting was in self-defense, but Wallace maintains that it was not.

"She wanted me to die because she has always felt if she can't have me, no one can have me," Wallace said.
